Boulder is in the national news today, but should we be proud?

We’re not sure…. The story, of course, is 4/20—or what we like to call “National Stoner Awareness Day.” The University of Colorado is closing campus with the threat of fining you up to $750 if you are caught galavanting on campus. Too much money for our bones!

But, we have been thinking: why have this silly day overshadow a the other really cool stuff that’s going down this weekend? We thought we would share with you some of the events we think you should check out instead of NSAD. It just so happens that we got to print some pretty cool stuff for each as well.

1. I think a lot of you would be surprised to find out that Bart’s CD Shack is in fact still around! Check out these cool stickers we printed for National Music Store Day. They will be celebrating with a couple of live bands over the weekend including our very own Terry Kishiyama’s (our Head Designer) band Interstate Stash Express.

2. Have you been to the Longmont Farmers’ Market yet this season? If you take our advice and go this weekend, check out La Cruz’s Specialty Foods. You can only get their crazy good jams, chutneys, and spreads there! You will not be disappointed. It was a pleasure dealing with the owner, Gloria, while producing their labels

3. It’s Taste of Pearl on Sunday in and around downtown Boulder. Sorry folks, this one is already sold out so if you don’t have a ticket yet, you’re out of luck. This event takes place at different shops on Pearl Street. Each destination will feature different foods and wines from Boulder restaurants. It’s a great event, and a portion of proceeds are donated to EFAA. We printed this last minute* eco-conciuous banner for the Pedestrian Shop on our new machine. Check back Monday to learn all about our printer, which uses smart beads for ink…. Think oversize color printing for less than you expected.

That’s all… nope:

-The Earth Day 5k

-Obama’s speaking at CU, are you going to get your ticket?

-The Motet at the Boulder Theater

*but for realsies-reals, we were running around the shop like crazy getting this stuff out….
